Description

2017 Canada Silver Predator Series Lynx (1 oz)

The 2017 1 oz Silver Lynx is the second installment of the Royal Canadian Mint’s four-coin Silver Predator Series.  A limited mintage of 500,000 per design, this series is the successor of the popular Canadian Silver Birds of Prey Series and is just as widely desired among collectors.

The Canadian Lynx (Lynx canadensis) is an incredible skilled hunter that targets birds, mice and squirrels, but it mostly prefers the snowshoe hare, which makes up the bulk of their diet.  This wildcat looks a lot like the domestic cat, but is over twice the size!  It is also slightly bigger than a bobcat.  The most striking feature that distinguishes the lynx from the house cat is the long black tufts on the tip of the ears.  This 1.6 inch tuft is clearly depicted on the 2017 1 oz Silver Lynx coin.

The solitary Canadian lynx is a stealthy nocturnal animal.  Catch this elusive wildcat while you can.  Order your today!
