Baseball has been an integral part of American culture almost since the game began. Connecting generations and unifying the spirit of our Nation. Class of 1936 (Baseball Hall of Fame balloting), is the first elections to select inductees to the Baseball Hall of Fame were held in 1936. Members of the Baseball Writers Association of America were given authority to select individuals from the 20th century; while a special Veterans Committee, made up of individuals with greater familiarity with the 19th century game. The 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin is the first curved coin ever produced by the US Mint.
