The Silver Landmarks of Britain is a new series of four different designs. The first one starting from 2017 is the beloved and cultural icon with a limited mintage of only 50,000. The Clock Tower at the Palace of Westminster in London and the official name is Elizabeth Tower since 2012, the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II. In 1859 when it was built, it was a great mechanical achievement for accuracy and the size of the great bell, which is nick named Big Ben. The face of the dials has a diameter of seven meters. When illuminated at night, it gives out the perfect impression that history is watching.

On the obverse side is the effigy of Her Majesty the Queen of Britain. Also shown is the face value of 2 pounds, as well as the Latin abbreviation meaning “By the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith”.

The reverse side is the view of the Elizabeth Tower from the ground up, showing the height of the great building. On the peripheral, there is the well known nick name of “BIG BEN”, the issue year of 2017, as well as the weight and purity of the silver, 1 oz ‘999’ FINE SILVER.

The Royal Mint is one of the oldest institutions in the world producing coins more than a thousand years ago. Sir Isaac Newton, the famous physicist, was once Master of the Mint till 1727.
