The Austrian Silver Philharmonic was first release in 2008, struck in one troy ounce of .999 pure silver. The Silver Philharmonic contents the similar design as its popular gold counterpart (The Austrian Gold Philharmonic).

Designed by Thomas Pesendorfer, it commemorates the famous Vienna Philharmonics Orchestra, it features a French horn, the Great Organ of the Golden Hall, violins, a cello, an oboe and a harp. The Silver Philharmonic is a legal tender coin with its face value of 1.5 Euro minted by the Austrian Mint.
