The Casa de Moneda de Mexico (House of Money) was established in 1535 and is the oldest Mint in the Western Hemisphere. Since 1991 the mint has been striking the Libertad Silver & Gold bullion coins for the Banco de Mexico (Mexico’s national bank). The Libertad bullion coins are known to be some of the most popular bullion coins worldwide.
